New Release: The Hunt (The Wilds Book Two) by Donna Augustine

Congratulations to Donna Augustine on the release of her urban fantasy The Hunt (The Wilds Book Two).
The Hunt (The Wilds Book Two)
by Donna Augustine
Living in the Wilds isn't any picnic, but I thought I had a handle on things: avoid the beasts and I won't get eaten, avoid the waterways and the pirates won't kill me, and stab every Dark Walker I see.

That was before I found out Tiffy's friends were real and back when I’d never heard of the Skinners. Now my magic is on the fritz, and people are disappearing. Dax doesn't want me to kill any Dark Walkers, and avoiding the beasts is impossible when I live with one. Amidst all this, I've become the most wanted woman around.

About the Author:
Donna Augustine was an odd child, had a brief moment of conformity in early adulthood and then decided to embrace her craziness as the years rolled by. It's her inner crazy that she credits with coming up with the ideas for her books. One part hypochondriac, a few dashes of paranoia, topped with a sliver of uptight and delivered with a relaxed flair, she kicked the proverbial box down the yellow brick road a couple years ago to embrace her true self.

She can be reached by a carrier pigeon, set free in a south by north direction, where she resides in Neverland with her two Siberian cats. Cats who, by the way, aren't as hypoallergenic as she believed they'd be.

For the conventional minded, and those of you without a pigeon on hand, she can be reached at donna@donnaaugustine.com. She responds to most emails within three dusk periods.

P.S. For those of you looking for the discarded box, it was sitting beside the road for a while but has since disappeared completely.

"One of the most thrilling writers working today. Miss him at your peril." - Blake Crouch, Wayward Pines

A near-future post-apocalyptic thriller series.

NEXT #1: AFTERBURN

Five years after a devastating solar storm wipes out civilization and spawns a strange race of mutants, Rachel Wheeler and her misfit family must choose whether to hide away or fight to join other survivors.

As their food supply dwindles inside their bunker, radiation from abandoned nuclear plants is altering the world around them. Not only are the mutants building their own cities and weapons, the remaining dregs of the U.S. military are massing for an attack. In this decaying environment, hostile new creatures crawl out from the crevices and up from the waterways to threaten them all.

But as a half-mutant, Rachel’s choice isn’t as simple as mere survival—the mutant way of life might be more promising than anything humans could hope to restore. And Rachel’s next decision could tear apart her family and the entire world.

Congratulations to Joe Naff on the release of his epic fantasy  Eternal Forest: The Shadow of the Throne (book #3)
Eternal Forest: The Shadow of the Throne (book #3)
by Joe Naff
October 24, 2015
277 pages
Chaos and uncertainty remain in the aftermath of the Balisekt War. With the Lands of Order in such a fragile state, the tribal races turn to Tranquility, their holy land, for guidance and stability. However, war has left the Temple more shaken than it appears. Silvermist, the great spiritual leader, has dispatched her forces into the territories in search of two fugitives, Sunrise and Firefly, who fled during the battle. She will not explain their crimes to anyone, breeding mistrust and hostility between the tribes and the Temple, but she cannot afford to let the truth be known. For Firefly has made a discovery that could bring the holy order crashing down. Many changes are coming in the Lady’s forest, and the seeds of revolution are being sown.

About the Author:
“People always ask me how I come up with my stories. I just tell them that it’s a matter of having A.D.D and putting it to good use.” — Joe Naff

If Joe were to be described in one word, it would be… well… weird. Joe’s an outspoken and easily excitable person with a big heart and the attention span of a squirrel let loose in a rave. Joe is far from what anyone would consider normal, but that’s what makes his work so unique and fun. His works mostly involve fantasy, occasionally slipping into other genres, but one thing always remains solid in everything he does: strong and independent women. As a die-hard feminist, Joe enjoys creating female protagonists that can be positive role models for young girls. As an active supporter of LGBT rights, he incorporates gay and lesbian struggles into his story lines while also playing with traditional gender roles. If you’re looking for a young, strong prince that saves the damsel in distress, you’ve come to the wrong place. However, if you’d like to see a damsel that can rescue herself (and maybe even the prince, too), then Joe’s books are definitely for you.

New Release: Pieces of One Part II (The Dark Life Collection) by SVC Ricketts

Congratulations to SVC Ricketts on the release of her romantic suspense Pieces of One Part II (The Dark Life Collections)

Book TWO in a three part dark suspense and contemporary romance series. Be warned: IT HAS A CLIFFHANGER ENDING!
** Due to explicit language, violence and sexual scenes, this is recommended for a mature audience, 18+. Read with extreme CAUTION.

Trista- Within the last few weeks I’ve been stalked, almost raped, witnessed a murder, and found out I am working with the FBI. All because of that slutty tramp, Marvy. Mind you, I did have my first sexual experience with a smoking hot guy, so there’s that…but I still hate her.

Marvy- That wimpy cry-baby blames me for everything, which is total joke! If it were up to me, I wouldn’t have gone back to the club without a gun. Now I’m stuck with that jerk-off, Bryson, hiding from people who want to see me dead.

Trista- I’m supposed to be getting the dirt on Bryson, but truth of the matter is, I think I’m falling for the scumbag. He did kill someone to protect me, but he’s the reason he had to. Sigh. I don’t know what to think about him. He doesn’t know about my secrets. Or maybe he does. The only man I can trust is Alex. But he doesn’t know where I am thanks to Bryson. I love them both in ways that are completely different—kind of like my alters.

Valeria- Wat a friggin’ mess! Dez two are idjits!

The Wilds
The Wilds Series Book One

by Donna Augustine

August 31, 2015
I met a Plaguer today, one of the very few who survived the last outbreak of Bloody Death. She said horrible things about me and my companions. We all called her crazy afterward and claimed this was the reason they needed to be locked up. They spread lies that could hurt our fragile world, nearly brought to extinction 150 years ago.

But here's the catch: she was right about me. I have a niggling fear that she was right about my friends, as well. What if the Plaguers are right about the people in charge? What if they are right about everything?

*This book is for all the Plaguers, the truth sayers branded and marked as liars, often hunted and sometimes forgotten. This book is for the girl who was right.

New Release: Dark Demon Rising: Whisperings Paranormal Mystery book #7 by Linda Welch

Congratulations to Linda Welch on the release of her Dark Demon Rising (Whisperings Paranormal Mystery #7)
Dark Demon Rising: Whisperings Paranormal Mystery book #7
by Linda Welch
What would you think if you woke in an unfamiliar place, with no memory of how you got there?

Suppose it’s a dream, and pinch yourself?

What if you can’t pinch yourself?

I have to rely on my ghostly buddies and a fake clairvoyant to help me solve a personally harrowing mystery and just when we think we’ve found the guilty party, the game changes. The real culprit’s convoluted plan is diabolical and shooting me was the first step. The next step could change the Gelpha world, and that would be just the start.

Poor Royal. He’s tolerated my interaction with dead people but never been happy with it. Now he has to take a real leap of faith. Now, if he wants to save my life and protect the future of three worlds, he has to believe.

About the author:
website-FB-twitter
I was born in Hampshire, England and after moving to the USA lived in Idaho, California and New Mexico before settling in the Wasatch Mountains of Utah. I now live in a mountain valley more or less halfway up a mountainside with my husband Tom and Scottish terrier Duncan. Unlike Tiff Banks, the heroine of the Whisperings series of paranormal mysteries, I am not tall and white-haired, do not see demons and haven’t seen a dead person for a while. I’m actually older than dirt, have the aches and pains which come with age and the cantankerous nature.

No, I don’t see dead people. Not a dead person in sight. What I do see are moose, deer, fox, raccoon, skunk, wild turkey, a huge wild bird population, feral cats (which I trap, have neutered and returned to the wild) and a ridiculous amount of snow. When not writing, and depending on the season, I’m usually tending to Scottie or husband (guess which one gets preferential treatment,) filling the bird feeders, futiley attacking the weeds in my much-too-big garden or shoveling out after a snow storm.

Protecting yourself from Social Media scams

The novice self-published author is always at risk of being scammed. It is hard to avoid these traps if you don't know what they are. That is why joining writer groups online or following blogs that talk about the ups and downs of self-publishing is so important. One of my favorite sites to follow is Writer Beware®

Today they had a great post about social media scams:

BEWARE SOCIAL MEDIA SNAKE OIL

This week I've got another great guest post for you, from marketing expert Chris Syme.

We writers have all heard that we "have" to be on social media, which is presented to us--both by experts and the not-so-expert--as the Holy Grail of marketing and self-promotion. But apart from the thorny questions of which platforms to use (Twitter? Facebook? Pinterest? Some of them? All of them?), and how to use them (How often should we post? What's the proper mix of friendly interaction and self-promotion?), there's the problem of "services" that want to exploit our confusion to rip us off.

Read on for solid advice on how to separate the worthwhile from the worthless, and warnings about some common social media scams.

Standing at her father’s grave in California, Sofia Laverne mourns his untimely death. Henry had not only been a loving parent but Sofia’s best friend and mentor. Imagine her shock and grief when she finds out her father had lived a double-life, that she has a ten-year younger sister and inherited a vineyard in Tuscany. Torn between anger about his betrayal, grief for her loss, and hopeful anticipation, Sofia packs her bags and takes off for Italy to meet fourteen-year old Julietta. Arriving in the small hill town of Vignaverde, she is greeted by olive groves, neat rows of grape vines, and picturesque houses. Some of the inhabitants of this beautiful estate are, unfortunately, less welcoming and resent her intrusion into the family business. Soon, strange occurrences begin to frighten Sofia. When a suspicious accident lands her in the hospital, Sofia fears for her life.

Part family drama, part romantic suspense, THE ITALIAN SISTER takes us on a wild journey from California to Tuscany and provides glimpses into the exciting world of winemaking.
