New Release: Charlie the Cupid: Quarter One by Zack Brooks

Congratulations to Zack Brooks on the release of his short story collection: Charlie the Cupid: Quarter On

Charlie the Cupid: Quarter One
by Zack Brooks
Book 1 of 1: Quarter One
Febuary 28, 2025
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be immortal? Well, let me tell you, it’s not all it’s cracked up to be. Not that I’m technically immortal; I can die after all. It’s not that I’m a god or anything. Though, now that I think about it, gods aren’t actually immortal either… Anyway.

My name is Charles Vefferlin, and I work for a company owned by one of the three Fate sisters, CLA LCC. My branch, located in Boston, is responsible for making beings—human or not—deemed fated to be together to fall in love. Oh, and if you haven’t already put it together, I’m a Cupid. Now, before your sad meat sack of a brain starts building an image right away. No, I don’t look like that. And no, I don’t shoot magical arrows, making beings instantly fall in love with one another. I do look like a normal human being, despite being several millenniums old, and I do make beings fall in love with each other. But it’s nothing like how you would imagine. Hell, it wasn’t until a certain assignment in Maine that things began to get weird, even for me. And that is saying something because, let me tell you, I have seen some crazy stuff in my life. But, I suppose I’ll let you find that out for yourself.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I could really use a drink… You’ll see why

This collection edition of Quarter One includes.

Valentines Day
Fanging with Fate
Hairy Neighbor Hook-up
Drunk Under the Rainbow
Pastor Problems
Nerdgasm
Hired Help

About the Author:
Zack Brooks is a new writer who likes to dabble in the fantasy world. He deals in the generic fantasy realm but also dips his toes in the world of urban fantasy. With his main series being The Amaford Trial, it becomes clear that sarcasm could be considered his first language.

Outside of writing, Zack is a husband and a father of three. All whom he lives to embarrass at every opportunity. Being a nerd and a homebody in New Hampshire it's no wonder he has chosen to spend what little free time he has clicking away and filling in those blank pages that scream to be filled.

Rune has been telling tall tales since the age of five. Ghost stories and other paranormal tales are her favorites, especially if they’re funny.

When she was a child, she had an invisible friend. Now that she’s gotten older, she collects weird characters and odd people, both in her books and in real life. She’s a veteran, a mom, and a grandma. She’s also trainable. As proof, the squirrels have trained her to refill the bird feeder on command, and a local stray cat trained her to feed him even though he rewards her with hissing and won’t let her pet him.

Why we do what we do? To level up the smut.

We are a team of Sultry Gay Romance writers who focus on detailed, toe-curling, and realistic smut scenes with a fair share of dirty talking (Oh, boy). Our readers admire and acquire books that feature thrumming heartbeats and sizzling sparks between characters. Characters who click. Unlike other authors in the genre, we write without the goal of publishing anything. Publishing is just the cherry on top of a cream-covered bubble butt.

That said, it is time for the next level of smut: stories featuring fire, lust & desire.

Quin, the American member of ‘Quin&Perin’, is a creature of pure spite. Well, some would say so anyway. After four years of reading terribly written romance in school, Quin decided to show them how it was done. Some would say an obsession was born at that moment. An obsession that lay smoldering for several years until a spunky German muse decided to kick Quin back into gear. From romance to pure erotic pleasure, the moment Quin&Perin met, it was all about mastering the written word and leveling up the smut!

Perin, the German counterpart of 'Quin&Perin' rocks Germany's entrepreneurial world by day and indulges in smutty writing practices at night (and during way too early mornings). Writing homoerotic stories in German had never been an option. And so, at the age of sixteen, Perin began diving into the sexy (English) world of lust, desire, and love between men and hasn't looked back since.

Rinda Elliott
I’m an author who loves unusual stories and I credit growing up in a family of curious life-lovers who moved all over the country. Books and movies full of fantasy, science fiction and romance kept us amused, especially in some of the stranger places. For years, I tried to separate my darker side with my humorous and romantic one. I published short fiction, but things really started happening when I gave in and mixed it up. When not lost in fiction, I love making wine, collecting music, gaming and spending time with my husband and two children.

She is the author of the Beri O’Dell urban fantasy series, the YA Sister of Fate Trilogy, and the paranormal romance Brothers Bernaux Trilogy. She also writes erotic fiction as Dani Worth. She can be found at RindaElliott.com. She’s represented by Miriam Kriss at the Irene Goodman Agency.

Jocelynn Drake
Love comes in many varied forms. There is the love of family, love of country, and love of chocolate. But for Jocelynn Drake, one truly treasured love is the love of a good story. This former Kentucky girl spends the majority of her time lost in the strong embrace of a good book. When she’s not hammering away at her keyboard, frowning at her monitor, or curled up with a book, she can usually be found cuddling with her cat Demona, walking her dog Max, or flinging curses at the TV while playing a video game. Outside of books, cats, and video games, she is completely enamored of Bruce Wayne, Ezio Auditore, travel, tattoos, explosions, fast cars, and Anthony Bourdain (but only when he’s feeling really cranky).

She is the author of the urban fantasy series: The Dark Days series and the Asylum Tales. She also occasionally writes as Joy Douglass when she’s in the mood for a little historical romance. She can be found at JocelynnDrake.com.

The moment recruiter Joe Mitani meets Carl Jenson, he knows he’s found something special. Few of the teens Joe interviews have the rare blend of brains and heart needed for the internships he’s filling. Even fewer come to the bargaining table with a psychically-gifted foster brother. Carl shows up with both.

Joe takes the package deal. Finding suitable trainees for work at the bleeding edge of mental health care is no easy task. Landing a prospect like Carl is worth the expense of adding his unexpected sibling to the roster.

Eddie Jenson is as talented as his brother, in his own way, and the Rydder Institute for Analytical Psychiatry specializes in developing exceptional talents. As far as Joe knows, there’s every reason for two boys with extraordinary potential to thrive there.

The secrets he doesn’t know will put Carl, Eddie and many others in danger.

I have been creating imaginary worlds since childhood, but the real world fascinates me too. Bugs, plants, computers, and chemistry all rank high on my list of life interests. Professional development has included classroom teaching, animal training, aquaculture, horticulture, retail management, inventory operations, and customer service. Personal development is ongoing. Cats are involved.

I live in the Midwest, and I currently work in a library, which is just as exciting as it sounds. When the weather is fine, I can be found in my garden instead of the office, and at least once a year I disappear into the woods for a week to disconnect from the modern world.
